Villa Tugendhat
A while ago,
I took these photo of the beautiful interior of
Villa Tugendhat in Brno, Czech Republic.
The visionary building was designed in the late 1920s
by Bauhaus architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for the Tugendhat family.
Sadly, the Jewish family had to flee and leave the house in 1939,
only nine years after it was finished—they never returned.
Villa Tugendhat served various purposes before people
realized its modern architectural importance.
In the 1990s, it was rebuilt and renovated.
Now, as a museum and monument,
it’s not just aesthetically pleasing
but also a symbol of how things change over time—
starting as a vision, evolving through time, and carrying stories.
